It is very natural and expected in my culture to care for the elderly. I remember as a young girl growing up in the Philippines, we would visit a home for the elderly which here would be similar to a senior living facility. We would offer to do small tasks for them, talk to them or entertain them with our singing or dancing. When my father became ill with cancer, I took a leave from work to care for him until his final moments.

When I learned about Griswold and what they do, it was the perfect timing. I was thinking about my aging mother who lives alone in another state and how I can care for her. Opening a Griswold office will give me the tools I need to care for my mom as well as to care for the older adults here in our community of Santa Clarita. My mom also worked as a caregiver in the last few years of her professional life. I know the challenges that she went through as a caregiver. Now I am able to provide jobs and pass on my knowledge and skills to our employees.
